So my roommate, Clint and I are going to attempt to be more physically active throughout the semester (again). Day one of a new routine is not an unfamiliar day for me. I try something new, it lasts a few weeks or months, and then something happens and I lose it. But day one is usually the most productive anyway, so let's just go with it.
I thought it would be fun to compare different exercise videos and keep track of which ones we liked and didn't. Part of this was in an attempt to not get bored by going to the gym after 2 days (which happened last time), and not needing to leave the apartment to exercise (our baby fish are really freaking cute!).
Today, we did the first 20ish minutes of a Jillian Michael's video. I think it was called Metabolism Booster for Fat Burning or something very close to that. We think it's from 2012. And it can be found on YouTube so that's convenient.
I'd give this one about 3.5 stars. The exercises were fun...I totally miss my kickboxing class from sophomore year and her instructions were clear. However, this video being from 2012 included a lot of fat shaming and comments about how you had to look like the girls in the video to be healthy. My feminist radar was screaming and I was immediately turned off to that sentiment but we trudged on.
Who knows how long this will last, but I'm going to try! It's kind of like a throwback to my blog from study abroad so that's fun too :)
